13/12/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Friday, Loyola de Palacio welcomed the definitive adoption of the proposal on civil aviation safety in a text that established the Community provisions that are binding on the subject. The Transport Commissioner explained that, "safety for European citizens must be guaranteed: only the uniform and effective application of these measures will allow all Europeans to maintain trust in air transport in EU airport…We must now swiftly put into place this regulation and, if needs be, complete it in order to incorporate any new international agreement on safety".
