25/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - Emerging from a conference in Munich in Thursday, Mario Monti expressed concern at Germany, France and Italy's financial policies. The European Competition Commissioner said budget discipline had to be respected to the letter and the pledge to keep budget deficits below 3% of GDP should not be broken. He said that the policies currently pursued by Berlin, Paris and Rome would not help achieve this directive.
