25/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - On the fringe of the plenary session in Strasbourg, the elected European member of Forza Italia, Mario Mantovani, discussed with the European Transport Commissioner, Loyola de Palacio, on the initiatives that will be taken on the occasion of the European Year for the Disabled that will end, in 2003, under Italian Presidency. Mr Mantovani, who had represented the European Parliament at the conference on the disabled organised by the Spanish Presidency during March in Madrid, states in a press release that Ms de Palacio agreed to take part, on 4 December in Brussels, at a demonstration during which there will be a presentation at the European Parliament's premises on the experiments at rehabilitation and musicotherapy achieved in the two centres in Milan. These experiments, comments Mr Mantovani, are excellent examples of "good practices" announced in the "Declaration of Madrid", the "real European Charter for the Rights of the Disabled".
