EU welcomes signing of agreement between rebels and ECOWAS ombudsman

Luxembourg, 22/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - EU welcomes the agreement for cessation of hostilities on the Ivory Coast between rebels and the ECOWAS ombudsman, it is stated in a declaration adopted on Monday by the General Affairs Council. It pays tribute to President Laurent Gbagbo, who gave preference to a political solution and assures him of its full support to continue along these lines to success.
