4% decline in greenhouse gases in the EU, where 6% of energy consumed comes from renewable sources

Brussels, 28/08/2002 (Agence Europe) - Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities, released a statistical report on Friday containing data on the social, environmental and economic aspects of sustainable development in the EU, in connection with the Johannesburg Summit that gets under way on Monday and will last until 4 September.
