Parliamentary mission in Chechnya to assess prospects for a peaceful settlement to the conflict

Strasbourg, 26/08/2002 (Agence Europe) - Members of the working group on Chechnya, which includes Members of the Russian State Duma and of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, will be visiting Chechnya on 3 and 4 September. In Grozny, the delegation will meet members of the Chechen administration, prosecutors, judges and NGOs from the region, as well as refugees who have returned to Grozny and displaced persons in the region.
