07/08/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday, the Commission announced that it was sending 100 European observers to the general elections in Macedonia on 15 September. These observers will be under the direction of the OSCE/ODIHR, which is responsible for 750 European observers. An expert from the Commission will be participating in the Management Committee of the OSCE/ODIHR observation mission. The Commission will be spending EUR 506,000 to fund this operation.
