Mr Fischler announces action plan on fishing in Mediterranean

Brussels, 23/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Monday, during his visit to Rome where he presented his proposals for reforming the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) and where he met representatives from the sector, Commissioner Franz Fischler indicated that the European Commission would be proposing an action plan for dealing with the specific problems in the Mediterranean, a zone that has seen a decrease in fish captures and an exhaustion of certain species, such as the Sea bass.
