Brussels, 03/04/2002 (Agence Europe) - The Commission has authorised EUR 14.4 million in aid in favour of the Ilka Mafa Kältemaschinenbau Gmbh company specialised in cooling and ventilation equipment and located in the Land of Saxony-Anhalt in Germany. The procedure had been opened in July 2000 in order to verify whether aid granted complied with the criteria established by the guidelines for State aid for rescuing and restructuring companies in difficulty. The fact that the parent company, GEA AG, had increased its financial contribution for restructuring of its subsidiary allowed the Commission's doubts to be dissipated with regard to the compatibility of aid, since the aid must comply with the essential condition of being proportional to the costs and advantages of restructuring.
