Brussels, 15/03/2002 (Agence Europe) - The third European forum of innovative businesses will be held on 8 and 9 April 2002 in Stockholm. It is organised by the European Commission in cooperation with the town of Stockholm in the context of the Innovation and SME programme. The Commissioner responsible for enterprise policy and the information society, Erkki Liikanen, Swedish Minister for Industry Björn Rosengren, the mayors of the major European towns and innovation experts will present their points of view on innovation policies and will review the latest trends and developments for supporting the creation of young innovative businesses at local level. In addition, the forum will allow light to be shed on the results of the Community action PAXIS (pilot action of excellence for young innovative businesses), and will serve as a framework for awarding the "excellence" prize to 22 innovative regions.
