Brussels, 15/03/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to grant humanitarian aid of EUR 2.5 million to Somalia. The aid is intended for the southern and central regions of the country badly affected by civil war, explains the Commission. The Commission will provide food and healthcare administered through several non-governmental organisations, under the responsibility of its humanitarian aid office, ECHO.
