27/02/2002 (Agence Europe) - On the eve of the opening of the Convention on the Future of Europe, the European Women's Lobby (EWL), has launched a campaign entitled, "Where are the Women?". The campaign aims to raise public awareness about the insufficient representation of women at the Convention (16 women as opposed to 87 men: Editor's note). The EWL will be presenting a petition to the Convention requesting that the Convention introduce, even at this late stage, mechanisms for ensuring that the rights and interests of women are taken into consideration in its work..
