Brussels, 13/12/2001 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, the Environment Council reached a political agreement on the Auto-Oil Directive that will make it compulsory for Member States to impose a minimum authorised sulphur content in petrol and diesel fuels (10 mg/kg or ppm as opposed to 50 ppm currently) and a timetable for introduction of these so-called "sulphur-free" fuels in the Union.
