07/12/2001 (Agence Europe) - The International European Movement (headed by José Maria Gil Robles) will be holding a Citizens' Assembly in Brussels on 13/15 December, following the adopting of a declaration for the Laeken European Summit by its Federal Council (see yesterday's EUROPE, p.7). Meanwhile, the workgroup chaired by Charles-Ferdinand Nothomb and composed of Paolo Barbi, Ljubomir Cucic, Pier Virgilio Dastoli, Jo Leinen and Marie-Claude Vayssade is continuing its work on the Summit. According to a press release, another work group, on the Union's finances (chaired by Alan Dukes) made up of Jean-Louis Bourlanges, Carlos Bru Puron, Daniel Cardon de Lichtbuer, Pier Virgilio Dasoli and Jaroslaw Petz. At its meeting last weekend, the Federal Council suggested appointing Dutch national Henrik H. Kröner as the new Secretary General, replacing Mr Dastoli.
