Commission reminds people of its public consultation exercise on revising definition of SMEs

Brussels, 30/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - On Friday, the European Commission reminded all interested parties (Member States and trade associations, etc) that they have until 9 November to comment on a proposal to modernise the definition of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The definition currently in use comes from a 1996 Commission recommendation and serves inter alia to assess eligibility for EU and national support measures and state aid.
