The Japanese groups NEC and HITACHI have announced the subsidiarisation of some of their businesses. NEC has said that it was to place its component activities in a subsidiary (TOKIN) on which occasion it would become the majority shareholder. For its part, HITACHI will subsidiarise two businesses representing a little less than 10% of its turnover.
