Brussels, 01/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has approved the proposed acquisition of Sensormatic Electronics Corporation by Tyco International Ltd, two US suppliers of electronic security systems. Within the European Union, the activities of the two partners only overlap in Belgium, for fire protection systems. Given the modest overlap and the presence of other competitors in the Belgian market, it was concluded that the operation would not give rise to a dominant position.
