The Dutch group KPN and Belgian BELGACOM have put an end to their talks with a view to a merger between the two companies. "Discussions took place in a constructive atmosphere but the current telecommunications market climate made negotiation difficult. An agreement on certain essential points in the future is not to be ruled out", explained the two parties in a press release.
