31/08/2001 (Agence Europe) - The problems now facing the steel industry, notably the world surplus and distortions to competition (due to subsidies), will be raised at a meeting the OECD is to hold on 17 and 18 September 2001. This meeting will bring together members of the OECD Steel Committee, observer countries to this Committee and other large steel producers, like South Africa, Argentina, China and Kazakhstan.
