EISLAND, the investment group chaired by Denis O'Brien, had launched a bid for the telephone company EIRCOM PLC but has not revealed how much it is bidding. Irish media report that other companies including the US investment fund KOHLBERG KRAVIS ROBERTS & CO are also interested in buying the former monopoly. See EI of 25 April.
