28/05/2001 (Agence Europe) - The Third Franco-German Dialogue will be held in Saarbrücken on 31 May and 1 June on the subject of Is Europe heading for a common security policy? Franco-German initiatives for a common security and defence policy. The participants will include the French Defence Secretary, Jean-Pierre Masseret and the German Defence Secretary, Walther Stütle. Areas such as the role of the EU as a 'civil or a military power', links with the US and Canada, institutional problems and 'obsolete arms technologies - Europe's Achilles heel?' will be on the agenda.
