Relaxation of EU measures and partial lifting of restrictions by us

Brussels, 28/05/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has welcomed the lifting on Friday of some of its import restrictions on fresh pork imports from the European Union. The decision does not cover livestock from France, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Greece and the Netherlands and came after the Standing Veterinary Committee (SVC) voted on Wednesday in favour of relaxing Community animal movement measures and restrictions in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
