Brussels, 04/05/2001 (Agence Europe) - On 9 and 10 May, the EPP-ED group at the European Parliament (chaired by Hans-Gert Pöttering) will hold in Thessaloniki, in Greece, its study days devoted above all to the future of the Balkans and relations of the countries of the region with the EU. Those taking part will include the president of Nea Demokratia, Kostas Karamanlis, and Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nadeza Mihailova.
Furthermore, MEPS will discuss immigration and asylum policy and will, on this occasion, hear Jürgen Storbeck, Europol Director, and the Interior Ministers of Austria and Estonia, Ernst Strasser and Tarmo Loodus. The other major theme will be the protection of public and consumer health on which Celia Villalobos, Spanish Health Minister, will speak.
