The Japanese trading house MARUBENI began negotiations with the German METRO AG in view of creating a joint venture that will allow the German retailer to gain a footing in Japan. If this operation is firmed-up, MARUBENI will hold 20% of the joint venture and the first store will be opened in Tokyo next year.
