GENERAL NEWS / (eu) aluminium

The French PECHINEY concluded a definitive agreement with the Swedish SAPA in view of the acquisition of its factories for the laminating of thin strips of aluminium in Luxembourg and Belgium for EUR 127 million. SAPA EUROFOIL (Luxembourg) and EUROFOIL BELGIUM (Belgium) had a turnover of EUR 151 million and produced some 50,000 of this kind of sheeting in 2000.
