The American company BOWATER will buy its Canadian competitor PRODUITS FORESTIERS ALLIANCE within a transaction for USD 770 million (debt included), which will give it a stake above 20% of the newspaper paper market in the United States. For each alliance share, BOWATER is offering propose CAD 13 dollars in cash and 0.166 of its shares.
