The American manufacturer of agricultural and construction equipment CNH GLOBAL (Italian FIAT group) will form a joint venture with the Chinese SHANGHAI TRACTOR in order to jointly produce agricultural tractors. The new company, named SHANGHAI NEW HOLLAND AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY will be 60% held by CNH GLOBAL and will employ 1,550 people. It should annually produce around 18,000 tractors and 16,000 engines.
