10/04/2001 (Agence Europe) - Peter Gaemelke, President of the Danish federation of farming organisations, wants the first new EU Member States to join at the beginning of 2006 (rather than 2004, which is the Danish government's preference) in order to allow time to complete the reforms of the EU's agricultural policies, which are "essential if we are to have the means needed for enlargement".
