ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) banks

The German insurance group ALLIANZ is preparing to take over the third largest private German bank DRESDNER BANK in which it already holds more than 20%. The operation could take the form of a friendly take over bid. In the longer term, the insurance company and the bank will be held by a joint holding, each retaining its autonomy and brand.
