The British insurer PRUDENTIAL will acquire the American AG - AMERICAN GENERAL in the framework of an operation that will be the largest transatlantic merger in financial services to this day. PRUDENTIAL will pay around GBP 18.1 billion in shares (or 3.622 PRUDENTIAL shares for one AG share) to acquire the American group. The new entity will be named PRUDENTIAL PLC and will be 50.5% held by the PRUDENTIAL shareholders and 49.5% by those from AG. It will have a pro forma capitalisation of GBP...
