The shareholders of the Italian holding MONTEDISON have rejected the planned merger with the energy company FALCK in which MONTEDISON had recently acquired a majority of the capital after a friendly take over bid. The general assembly did not consider sufficient the exchange price offered, but looked favourably upon the industrial plan we announced, indicated MONTEDISON. See EI of 20 October 2000.
