19/02/2001 (Agence Europe) - The negotiations concerning the fishing agreement between the EU and Equatorial Guinea have finished. The new protocol will covers a three year period as of 1 July 20001. It foresees annual possibilities for the catching of 5,500 tonnes of Tuna (against 4000 previously) by Community ships in exchange for a financial compensation of EUR 412,500 an increase of 22% compared to the former protocol (EUR 320,000).
