Paris, 31/01/2001 (Agence Europe) - The Confrontation association, founded in 1991 under the chairmanship of the MEP Philippe Herzog, will create on 22 February in Brussels, in the European Parliament, a European Confrontations Circle, to, as indicated in the invitation, fully answer its aim: a European participatory democracy". Confrontations and its European circle will thus mobilise to promote the role of civil society in the formation of a transnational democracy, forge "an identity of European company", elaborate a Union constitution and reform its institutions.
The project will be presented in the afternoon of Thursday 22 February by Philippe Herzog, with the participation of the European Commissioner Pascal Lamy, and then a conference will be organised on the theme "The European Constitution", with Paul Magnette, researcher at the Institute for European Studies at the Free University of Brussels.
