GENERAL NEWS / (eu) eu/competition/state aid

31/01/2001 (Agence Europe) - The Commission authorised the following operations concerning competition: a) the acquisition by Salzgitter AG (Germany) of a 50% stake in the French steel services company Robert SA; b) the acquisition by the South African group Sasol de Condea, of the chemical activities of the Germany group RWE-DEA. Moreover, the Commission authorised two State aid regimes in Spain and opened an investigation in France and Spain.
