ARIBA, US company specialised in inter-company electronic commerce, has taken over its rival AGILE SOFTWARE for the sum of $2.5 billion for a share swap. Thus enlarging its scope of activities, ARIBA plans to triple its turnover in 2001 to over $800 million.
