Reassessment of anti-dumping measures applicable to India

Brussels, 30/01/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission decided to reassess the anti-dumping measures applicable to India on imports of bags and sachets made from polyethelyne or polypropylene originating, among others, from India. This procedure, whose opening is announced in the Official Journal N°C26, aims to determine if there is cause to modify the duties applicable from October 1997. The elements of proof provided by the European association of textile polyolefins is trying, in fact, to show that these elements are not enough to put an end to the dumping, of increasing importance, practised by certain Indian producer-exports. All the interested parties are invited to pass on their possible observations, as well as pertinent information, within forty days ending around next 5 March.
