Brussels, 15/12/2000 (Agence Europe) - With regard to the information published in EUROPE of 14 December, p.6, the Head of the Israeli mission to the EU, Ambassador Harry Kney-Tal notes: a) Israel respects its undertakings in terms of transfers to the Palestinian Authority, in close contact with the European Commission and the IMF. For the period from January to November 2000, the amount transferred as part of fiscal receipts corresponds to around EUR 610 million; b) Israel welcomes the EU's decision concerning the second Cash facility and hopes that this money will contribute towards establishing a solid base for sustainable economic growth in the Palestinian territories.
