Strasbourg, 15/12/2000 (Agence Europe) - "The European Parliament is offering to make means available to the Court of Justice so it may resolve its problem of translation delays, and the Court must now seize this opportunity", said Rapporteur Markus Ferber during adoption of the Community budget for 2001. The Court of Justice has a "supplementary service" of EUR 3 million for its translation service. The total budget for the Court of Justice is EUR 141.88 million.
The Community budget for 2001, adopted on Thursday by the EP, includes credits allocated to the different European institutions and bodies: European Parliament (EUR 987.8 million), Council (367.22 million), Court of Auditors (73.86 million), Economic and Social Committee (77.99 million), Committee of the Regions (34.94 million) and European Ombudsman (3.9 million). The remaining administrative credits from the Budget 2001 is allocated to the European Commission (EUR 3.2 billion).
