11/12/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Danish Defence Minister Hans Haekkerup will replace as of January Bernard Kouchner at the head of the UN administration in Kosovo. The Kosovo Administrator since July 1996, Bernard Kouchner announced his intention to renounce his functions after the success of the recent elections in the region, indicated last Friday the UN spokesperson, adding that the UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan, would use this occasion to "pay homage to the dynamism" provided by Mr Kouchner in this "especially difficult" position.
