ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) construction

The German BTP groups WALTER BAU and DYWIDAG are to merge in January next, giving rise to the second largest German company in the sector, after HOCHTIEF. The construction activities of both groups represent a turnover of EUR 6.14 billion in 1999 and employ 28,000.
