ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) automobile equipment

The Italian automobile group FIAT has announced the sale of its 50% stake in a joint-venture specialised in heating and air-conditioning systems and created between its automobile components subsidiary MAGNETI MARELLI and the Japanese firm DENSO. It is the latter, TOYOTA subsidiary, that will take over all these activities for an estimated 500 million euro. This sector represented a turnover in 1999 of 450 million euro and employs 2,500 people.
