Commission closes several operations

Brussels, 23/11/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission announced having:

1)  Authorised the acquisition of a stake in the Portuguese brewer Centralcer by the British company Scottish & Newcastle;

2)  Gave the go-ahead to the creation of a joint venture between the Italian company Agusta and the British Westland in the sector for military and civilian helicopters;

3)  Closed the dossier against the Italian consortium COBAT for abuse of dominant position in the sector for used lead batteries, the consortium having modified its rules.
