ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) pharmaceuticals

TOTALFINAELF (oil) has sold 2.5% of the capital of SANOFI-SYNTHELABO to MERRIL LYNCH for the sum of FF 6.56 billion. The business bank will then reclassify these shares with institutional investors. TOTALFINAELF still holds 32.7% of the pharmaceuticals group.
