British THAMES WATER (turnover £1.48 billion for the financial year ending March with 12 million customers) is on the point of being bought up by the German electricity group RWE. The latter is making a friendly bid (public offering) on the British group for a value of £12.5 per share, giving THAMES WATER the value of £4.3 billion.
