Volvo's takeover of RVI approved

Brussels, 04/09/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has approved the takeover of Renault Vehicles Industriels (RVI) by the Swedish giant Volvo, on condition that both parties agree to sever their ties, respectively, with Scania and Iveco, and eradicate bus construction activities that overlap in France. EUROPE will return to the details of this decision tomorrow.
