August bulletin underlines risks weighing down price stability - Towards a new rise in interest rates?

Frankfurt, 11/08/2000 (Agence Europe) - In its monthly bulletin for the month of August, the European Central Bank notes that, in the Euro area, the rise in the "the index for harmonised consumer prices" is set for June at 2.4% annually, compared to 1.9% in May, and that it thus exceeds the 2% ceiling.
