Brussels, 10/08/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission authorised the creation of a joint venture by the American companies United Technologies Corp. and Honeywell International Inc. named My Aircraft.com, this company, which will specialise in transactions between companies in the aerospace sector, thus becoming the first electronic exchange between companies (B2B), was authorised by the Commission. The two mother companies carry out activities in the production and sale of goods and services to the aerospace sector and, through the intermediary of MyAircraft.com, they will offer a "one-stop shop" and sales management services to all the participants from the sector.
The investigation carried out by the Commission into the market reveals that third parties general see the B2B electronic market places as a means, among many, to acquire goods and services. Its decision is also based on the relatively high number of companies that already exist in this sector or whose creation have been announced, which means that MyAircraft will be faced with strong competition from similar web sites.
