President Herzog takes stock - Examination of amendments continues until July

Brussels, 06/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Convention that is drawing up the draft Charter of Fundamental Rights started the examination of the 598 amendments that relate to the first 30 Articles. On civil and political rights it seems that the methodology chosen, the adoption by consensus, on the basis of the compromise prepared by the Secretariat on the basis of amendments made - is starting to show its limits and could lead to blockages.
