Brussels, 05/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - More than thirty new research projects where approved by the high level group from the Eureka programme. They mainly relate to information technologies, medicine and biotechnology, which share close to two thirds of the EUR 65.22 allocated. A little than 20% of this total, or 13.82 million, is attributed to the IKF project, collaboration, (with Italian leadership) having as aim to produce a network of infrastructures and services. The Italian company Mormos Sistema will develop this new system with partners established in Hungary, Portugal, Romania and the United Kingdom. The high level group also attributed a total of EUR 14.16 million to projects in the environment domain. The most important is the fruit of an Irish and Danish collaboration that aims to develop a waters treatment platform and will receive EUR 6.17 million from Eureka.
