Approval for joint venture between Techpack International (Pechiney) and Valois (Aptar) for packaging manufacture

Brussels, 31/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has approved the creation of a joint undertaking between the companies Techpack International (of the French group Pechiney) and Valois (of the American group Aptar) for the manufacture of packaging for foodstuffs, and viscous products or cosmetics. Aptar/Valois is to transfer to the joint venture its manufacturing and marketing activities for pump-operated dispensers made of plastic.

European competition services felt that the operation does not pose any competition problems because of the low market share of the future joint undertaking, and the presence of major competitors on this market.
